Porth Teigr: Ideascape is an interactive evening exploring how technology can help make Porth Teigr a place where people want to live, work and play.
Each stand proposes a question and an idea, with space for you to share your responses on how we might collectively shape Porth Teigr’s digital+physical future.
Porth Teigr: Ideascape is presented by Calvium and follows a 6 month research project supported by the Porth Teigr Community Fund, in collaboration with igloo, Studio Response and creative partners Zubr, Compass Presents and On Par Productions.
Play with a series of interactive demos we’ve developed to illustrate practical examples of digital placemaking ideas: download an audio trail app and be treated to a reimagining of the history of the Lock Keeper’s cottage; peer through Augmented Reality binoculars to see the future of Porth Teigr and meet our prototype ‘Digital Town Crier’. Most importantly, share your ideas on how we might shape Porth Teigr’s digital+physical future.
We’ll also be hosting organisations and individuals who are already doing great work in this space including The Architecture Centre and So Much Depends… (an arts/technology project led by the Humanities Research Institute at the University of South Wales in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University)
Refreshments will be provided for ticket holders.
Porth Teigr Trail App
As part of the event, we’ve produced a Porth Teigr Trail, containing short audio pieces about the past, present and future of the area. We’ll be collecting your ideas at the event about how history can be told, on location, so download the app and let us know what you think:
