Jo brings her consultancy expertise and vast mobile design experience to the heart of the executive team. Holding an MBA and BSc in Computer Science, Jo was formerly a senior researcher at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. As well as captaining the Calvium ship, Jo offers our clients expertise in mobile experience design, particularly in regards to location and context aware applications.

Tom delights in blending his in-depth technical knowledge with a genuine interest in his clients. His holistic approach to app development has resulted in him winning a 2014 Brand You Award as well as a plethora of awards and commendations for many of his clients apps. Tom also plays an active role in Bristol’s tech sector – you’re likely to find him speaking at a conference or sharing his ideas at a networking event.
Ben specialises in system architecture, tools and mobile technologies. Ben has deep expertise in developing software platforms such as AppFurnace as well as native mobile apps, being highly skilled in both iOS and Android development. Ben is able to make apps communicate effectively with almost anything – having developed apps that control showers, diagnose light sequences from washing machines, set lighting controls as well as the more usual API interfaces to back-end systems.
Project Manager & Hybrid Developer
Kieron is a web and hybrid mobile developer, experience designer and project manager. His interest in both the technical and experience aspects of a project brings a holistic approach to a brief. He holds a First Class BSc in Web Design from UWE, Bristol, and has previously worked as freelance designer & developer for artists and arts organisations.
Marketing & Operations Manager
Charlie is responsible for Calvium’s marketing strategy and outputs. A talented and adaptable marketeer, Charlie also enjoys helping our clients think about the marketing, PR and promotion of their apps to ensure they get highest ROI possible. Charlie has a first class degree from the University of The West of England, Bristol as well as a foundation certificate in marketing, with distinction, from the Certified Institute of Marketing.
Chris is equipped with an array of skills ranging from motion, interactive and web design to illustration, book making and screen printing. Well practised in designing for mobile, he has provided the graphics for many of the apps that Calvium has produced as well as taking charge of the graphic design for Calvium’s own print and digital outputs.

Technical Delivery Manager & Developer
Pablo is our in house iOS Specialist and has developed apps for clients such as Bristol 24/7 and Fatbrain. Working in mobile development for a number of years, Pablo is also skilled in areas of projects, processes and planning. He holds a 5 year degree in Telecommunication Engineering, focused on telematics, from the Universidad de Sevilla in Spain. He has a special interest in mobile communications, networking and devices.
Tony has an array of skills ranging from iOS native development in Objective C and Swift, to PHP and C and more. He holds a BSc in Mathematical Physics and a PhD in Structural Acoustics. His first app released on the App Store was featured by Apple and has received well over 400,000 downloads. Tony has also spent several years in the music industry producing well-known artists such as Craig David, Beverley Knight and Tanya Lacey. He also has a passion for table tennis and is currently playing in the Bristol premiere league team.
Louise is a project manager and creative producer. With a background in managing arts projects, she joined the Calvium team after working on a collaborative research and development project, inspired by our approach to co-creation. Louise applies her impeccable organisational skills to managing, scheduling and resource allocation across all Calvium projects.
Richard holds a DPhil in Computer Science from Sussex University and has authored many publications and patents. One of Calvium’s founders and a previous Managing Director, Richard now brings his extensive experience of technology innovation and business development to Calvium’s board.
Experience Designer Researcher
Cristina is a Phd candidate of the Exeter REACT Collaborative Studentship: ‘Geo-locating the spatial and architectural history of the pre-modern cities.’ With a keen interest in oral storytelling, locative narrative and experiential-based practice, Cristina joins Calvium for 6 months writing blogs and white papers about locative media projects and generally helping Calvium to increase their written contributions on Experience Design.
Phil was a founder of Calvium and its first Managing Director. He also co-founded the Pervasive Media Studio with Watershed. With years of experience leading research he now works for BBCR&D.
