Calvium’s impressive background within research and development forms the solid foundation of our business. Having previously worked for Hewlett-Packard Labs, Texas Instruments and Xerox prior to launching Calvium, our directors have played key roles in groundbreaking location-based experiences, including; ‘Riot 1831’, the world’s first GPS-enabled outdoor drama and ‘Savannah’, a seminal educational game for augmented space.
More recently we have partnered on research projects with the University of Exeter, University of Brighton and the Digital Cultures Research Centre, UWE. Our research for igloo – the developers of Porth Teigr, Cardiff Bay – was a 6 month long investigation into how urban regeneration can be enhanced by the creative use of digital technologies.
